The short version

Markeen keeps your medication records on your phone, encrypted. We don’t sell data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers. Nothing about your medications, doses, schedules, supplies or notes is ever shared with marketing or advertising services.

Who we are

Information on your device

Protocols, dose logs, vials and pens, injection sites and journal notes you enter are stored in an encrypted database on your device. The encryption key is kept in your device’s secure keychain. We cannot access this information.

Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device. By default they do not show medication names.

Optional encrypted sync (Premium)

If you turn on sync, we collect your email address to sign you in and store an encrypted copy of your records with our hosting provider (Supabase). Records are encrypted on your device with a key protected by your passphrase before upload. We cannot read them and cannot recover them if you forget your passphrase.

We also store technical metadata needed for sync: record identifiers, record type, version numbers and timestamps.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to verify purchases with an anonymous identifier. We receive no payment card details and do not send RevenueCat any health information or your email address.

Marketing email (only if you opt in)

If you choose to join our email list on markeen.app or in the app, we store your email address, the date and wording of your consent, and your subscription status. We confirm your sign-up by email before sending anything (double opt-in). This list is kept separate from sync accounts and contains no health information. You can unsubscribe with one click in any email.

Marketing emails are delivered by our email provider (Resend). We do not use tracking pixels to profile you.

Consumer health data

Information about the medications you track is consumer health data under laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act. We collect it only to provide the features you use, we never sell it, and we share it with no one except the processors listed above, solely to operate the service. You may access, export or delete it at any time.

Your choices and rights

Export: Settings → Your data → Export all data gives you a complete copy at any time, free.

Delete: Settings → Your data → Delete all data erases everything on your phone. Settings → Account and sync → Delete sync account permanently erases your server copy and sign-in.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California and other US states), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data and to object to processing. Contact privacy@markeen.app; we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Retention

Sync data is kept until you delete your account, or deleted 24 months after your last sign-in. Marketing records are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a suppression record so we never email you again.

Children

Markeen is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We’ll post changes here and, for material changes, notify you in the app before they apply.
